Regarding the video: quite informative; ideas clear, well-presented. Aside from the question of how much power is enough: I read somewhere about a year ago that the Blender developers were working closely with Nvidia's engineers to try to maximize compatibility, create a good match between Blender features and Nvidia's capabilities. I hope that's right; in the past, I've been partial to AMD video cards (Radeon) but if Nvidia is a better match, then I'll switch.

🤗 Just rewatched the video. But in my mind, I change the new feature with other people's artwork as it's what I'm struggling with. Every time I scroll through social media I feel jealous and left behind as I look at others' work. And when I tried to start my own work, I always felt scared that my work would not be as good as the others I watched. Even after working on so many projects, that fear is always there.

It seems like 95% or more of the Blender videos out there aren't about animation at all. They're instead about how to build sets and characters. Does anyone know of a channel that has tutorials about how to actually animate those characters? Does anyone actually know what "animate" means? Everyone seems interested in building and showing off some building or landscape they made, and even some human-like character they made. But who cares about that? That's like trying to teach how to paint by showing off your Rembrandt copy without teaching people how to use a pencil to draw a face or something like that. I just want to learn to make a simple character like something in an old cartoon and then animate it in 3D. I can learn to make it human-looking later. I want to learn to make simple buildings like in old cartoons. I can make the Taj Mahall later. Thank you to anyone with good suggestions.

From the perspective of someone with no artistic talent, what is the difference in someone typing "In the style of Curtis Holt" into a AI art prompt and someone with some talent looking at your works and imitating your style? Customer walks in with a bunch of Curtis Holt pictures and tells the artist that he wants a picture of "X" in this style, what then? I recently used Dall-E to generate a thumbnail for me to use. I typed in my prompt and it output something well beyond my expectations. I did not use any "in the style of" prompts. Do you feel that this is an acceptable use of AI generated imagery? Or do you still feel that every artist that who's work was used to train the AI needs to be compensated? Will any kind of artist compensation lead to an AI that is only trained on art from artists that are dead? The AI companies will just wait for you to die and then use your art. With the power of home computers, and the fact that the newest processors have built in NPUs, how will we prevent the average creator (or clever businessman) from spinning up an AI and training it on "everything" on the internet? Is the only way to stop unapproved training with your work to put it behind a pay wall and turn off all the search bot access so no one knows you exist? Maybe just not post any of your work on the internet to the point of only sending encrypted images of your work to those that YOU want to see it? Is being a paid artist no longer a viable business model, like Fast Food in our current economy, just not a profitable venture? Tough questions that I wish I had answers to.

I would like to see how your viewport mode cycles react to your machine's capabilities.

I have an Alienware x17R2 RTX 3080 i7 12700H 664 RAM 4T ssd in a simple project, just color on the mesh (no textures or complicated noods), when I want to work with the cycles viewpoint selected, the image starts to lag. So I need to wait a few seconds to see the image catch up with the color. It gets worse if I want to watch a video in the other screen on youtube. Rendering for simple mesh takes time, even in black and white. Im talking simple mesh for a background for a webpage just to have an abstract shape in the back. Suggestions?
